About the Advisory Committee
The advisory committee consists of voluntary and unpaid non-voting members who are elected by membership to serve staggered 3-year terms. One seat is filled by a vested, active Denver City and County (city) or Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA) employee, one seat is filled by a retired member, and another seat is appointed by the Denver Career Service Board. The fourth seat can be filled by an active, vested city or DHHA employee or a retired member.
An election is held every spring to elect, or re-elect, a member. An advisory committee member represents city employees, DHHA covered employees, and DERP retired members and presents suggestions and questions to the DERP retirement board. (Revised Municipal Code, Section 18-405(d))
